- Decide first from which harbor you will depart; this is important because it will help you manage your arrival timing from/or to your hotel or airport. Better yet, book in advance your trip so there will no hustle, just enjoy and relax. If you book your trip in advance, most likely it will depart from Sanur harbor
- Bring all necessary equipment to protect you from the sun. It is very hot and humid in Nusa Penida therefore hats, sunglasses and sunblock are the three items you can not afford to forget when visiting Nusa Penida island.
- Don’t forget to bring cash (Indonesian rupiah notes) with you. Yes there are only couple of ATM machines in Nusa Penida but sometimes they are out of order. Some restaurants, cafes and villas provide EDC machines for card payment but the cellular coverage reception in Nusa Penida is not always your best friend. Cash is the way to go
- Wear clothes that suitable for hot climate.
- Drink a lot of water during your trip because of the obvious reason but if you want to save water, drink beer is also acceptable.
- Bring small medication with you. The majority of the tourist destination are located far from the pharmacy/hospital in Nusa Penida
